This summer, the makers of the GUNK®  brand, in collaboration with SkillsUSA, a non-profit partnership of industry, students, and teachers working to ensure America has a skilled workforce, launched the 2011 GUNK Serious Solutions Challenge, a nationwide scholarship program that asked automotive vo-tech students to create a video communicating their “Auto-Motivation,” what drives them to pursue a career in the automotive industry. The five students who demonstrated outstanding passion and creativity through their video submissions were awarded scholarships.
“Our experience with this Challenge has been incredibly rewarding,” said Marshal Livingstone, GUNK® brand category manager at RSC Chemical Solutions.  “Watching the video submissions, it is clear that the upcoming generation of automotive technical students is exceptionally focused and driven. They are dedicated to succeeding in the automotive industry and we are delighted to help further the education of each student with a scholarship and trip to one of the biggest automotive trade shows in the industry.”
The five finalists will participate in the GUNK Serious Solutions Ultimate Challenge at the SEMA Show, where they will demonstrate their knowledge of the automotive industry through a game-show style trivia contest.  The winner will receive a grand prize of $5,000 to support the automotive department at his school.
