The Darrell Gwynn Foundation will auction a 2008 Ford Mustang GT at Auctions America – Fort Lauderdale, at the Broward Convention Center on Saturday, March 15. Lot #526 was donated to the foundation by Mr.and Mrs. Ron Felderstein. Proceeds from the sale of this car will benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. The Darrell Gwynn Foundation’s mission is to provide support for people with paralysis and prevent spinal cord injuries.
This 2008 Ford Mustang GT is the winner of over 50 awards including “Best in Show”, “Best Engine” and “Best Interior” at the Maryland International Raceway Ford Fever Classic. It has a 400 horsepower engine, automatic transmission, stainless steel custom headers and exhaust, Ford Racing Springs lowered 1 ½ inches, and completely detailed engine with all parts chromed or polished. It features custom racing stripes, rear window louvers, side window louvers, custom rear spoiler, custom tail lights, custom front end, American Muscle Chrome Racing Wheels and custom hood scoop. It also has a customized carbon fiber dash, auto meter gauges, ATI Shifter and custom truck with carpeting.
This marks the first time the Darrell Gwynn Foundation will participate in the Fort Lauderdale event. The foundation’s Car Donation Program has been a primary fundraising mechanism over the years, raising money for the foundation through the auction of classic and high-performance vehicles that were either donated or custom built for the foundation. The proceeds from these auctions are then turned into custom power wheelchair donations for individuals facing medical and financial hardships. The Darrell Gwynn Foundation’s national Wheelchair Donation Program donates custom power wheelchairs which, on average, cost $25,000 each. The foundation participated in its first Auctions America in 2013 in Auburn, Indiana.
“We’re excited to be a part of Auctions America again,” said Darrell Gwynn, president of the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. “It’s special to us to be able to participate in this auction right in our backyard. I’m thankful for the Felderstein’s for donating a great car that we can auction, and for the Auctions America team for generously hosting us at the event.”
