This 1967 Shelby G.T. 500 is Lot S315 and is scheduled to cross the block on national television on Saturday, May 19 as part of the Mecum Spring Classic.
Has there ever been a more inherently tough-looking machine than the 1967 Shelby GT? Completed in 2011, this nut and bolt mechanical restoration by renowned Cobra Automotive hits all the right notes, from its Dark Moss Green paint (with White Le Mans striping, of course!) and Magstar wheels to its 428/355 HP Police Interceptor engine and Toploader 4-speed manual transmission. Desirable features include power steering and front disc brakes, fold down rear seat, AM radio, tach and trip odometer; Shelby purists will like the rare inboard high beam headlight grill that is so much a part of the car’s aggressive personality. The owner’s manual and 1967 magazine ads are included.
More than 2,100 cars afe expected to cross the block at the event, held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, May 15-20. Complete details can be found at www.mecum.com
