First Barrett-Jackson Shelby GT for sale
Serial number 1 to be auctioned in Reno

The first 2008 Barrett-Jackson Edition Shelby GT made will be up for sale at the Barrett-Jackson Reno-Tahoe auction, which takes place July 31-August 2.
The prototype, with serial #1, is a black convertible with red stripes, and will be offered as Lot 725 on Saturday, at no reserve. The car was one of 100 specially badged and serial numbered cars produced in 2008 in a collaboration between Shelby American, Barrett-Jackson and Ford. It is also the first of only 10 convertibles with a manual transmission, increasing its rarity, even among the limited editions. It has less than 8,000 miles on the odometer.
The Barrett-Jackson Edition Ford Shelby GT comes equipped with a small-block 4.6 liter Ford Mustang GT engine, enhanced to 319hp and 330 lbs-ft of torque. The car also includes an upgraded suspension, featuring special springs, dampers, sway bars and 3.55 to 1 gear ratio rear end. It is also equipped with a Hurst shifter, hood scoop, hood pins, side scoops, special badging, a billet grille with Mustang pony, light bar and a Shaker 1000 stereo system.
