The Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation is hosting their annual Alzheimer’s Barbeque and Car Drawing on Saturday, May 19. The 19th annual event takes place at the Wickham Park Pavilion in Melbourne, Florida. Ticket prices are one for $25, six for $100, and 15 for $200. Each ticket includes complimentary food, drinks, and the chance to win a matching numbers 1970 Plymouth Superbird.
The Plymouth Superbird has become very valuable. A Superbird can fetch anywhere from $300,000 to $2,000,000 with the right collector. The car was only built for one model year, 1970, making the rarity of a true Superbird something very special.
Organizers believe this is one of two Superbirds ever given away for charity in the world. In 2008, YearOne ran a Superbird through the Barrett Jackson auction to benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation, and it brought $676,000.
