In a recent announcement, Mopar revealed that it has worked with Dodge to help revive the Scat Pack club. This revival brings a set of performance upgrades to the Dodge Challenger, Charger and Dart. According to the announcement, “The Scat Packs are factory designed and engineered for the driver who craves more performance and wants the peace of mind. From cold air induction and brake upgrades to reworked cylinder heads and updated engine controllers, the Scat Pack puts the rumble in your ride.”
The original Scat Pack Club was created in 1968. The 1968 Scat Pack cars came with twin stripes along the trunklid and down the sides along with Scat Pack decals bearing the cool little “Speed Bee”. The club was very strong a few years later. The 1970 Scat Pack Club included newsletters, decals and other trinkets that appealed to the hardcore Dodge performance fans. Scat Packages in that day included the Read-Out package with performance gauges, the Bee-Liever package that added an intake manifold, carburetor, camshaft and headers, the Top Eliminator package that added a six-pack carb setup with intake manifold and carbs, an electric fuel pump, electronic performance ignition and a fuel cooling canister and the Kruncher drag strip package that added a beefier rear axle and a Hurst shifter.
The latest version of the Scat Pack Club is also dedicated to improving current products through the dealers.  In short, factory-engineered, bolt-on performance upgrades for the Dodge Charger and Challenger with the available 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, and the Dodge Dart with the available 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine. These upgrades include engine control computers recalibrated to take full advantage of the upgrades for more power. Upgrades can range from cold-air intakes and cat-back exhaust systems to beefier brakes, stiffer sway bars and a more aggressive camshaft for the HEMI V-8.
