It’s a 45-year-old new car. This 1969 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Coupe is just about as close to factory fresh as it was over four decades ago. It is unrestored with just 15 original miles and the window sticker is right there on the glass. The car was delivered to Dunlop Chevrolet in Macon, Georgia and kept in the dealership inventory until 1980. From there, the car went to a place of esteem at the Central Texas Museum of Automotive History in Rosanky, Texas. It’s Glacier Blue with a blue interior, powered by the 110 horsepower 164 engine and four-speed manual transmission. With a pristine interior and flawless exterior, it has been a true time capsule to what customers at Chevy dealers in 1969 were seeing. This was the last year of production for the Corvair and the sticker shows a price of $2,822.05. You can rest assured the new price will be much higher.
The car is being offered at the Mecum Auction in Houston, April 10-12. This car, Lot F211, will be sold on Friday, April 11, along with many other fine quality autos. For more details, visit
