It remains the dream car of many. A two-door 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air holds a coveted spot in the minds of car enthusiasts and collectors.
A top example of the iconic car is scheduled to be a part of the Mecum Auction in Houston, April 10-12. The car, Lot S95, will be sold on Saturday, April 12.
This convertible features the 283 cubic inch, 220 horsepower V-8 engine with a four-barrel carburetor. It is a three-speed manual car which also has the distinct Continental kit in its styling. Clad in the period popular turquoise with a white and turquoise interior, this car features plenty of the subtle and not so subtle reminders of the motoring days gone by. With dual exhaust and fender skirts, it’s not hard to imagine the time this car spent at a drive-in restaurant or drive-in movie theater. Other attributes include the American Classic wide whitewall tires and three-bar spinner wheel covers. The white convertible top also includes a protective boot.
