LS cast iron manifolds
If you’ve swapped in an LS engine, and space is tight underhood, or you don’t want to install headers, then try these cast iron exhaust manifolds now available from Hooker. The contoured design aims exhaust directly at the exit port, and their shorty style means exhaust tubing can be routed close to the frame or floorpan. They are intended for all LS engines, except LS7 and LS9, and are made of high-silicon, moly-ductile iron for durability and corrosion resistance. They fit 1970-’81 GM F-bodies, ’82-’86 G-bodies and ’68-’72 A-bodies; check for specific applications. Mating flanges of 304 stainless steel are included, and they come in either raw or a choice of ceramic finishes (black, cast iron gray, silver or titanium).
Engine dress-up kit
Add the look of carbon fiber to your small-block Ford engine at a fraction of the cost with this dress-up kit from Proform Parts. The tall, stamped steel valve covers are decked out with a smooth film that replicates the look of carbon fiber, and come complete with rubber grommets and baffles installed. Also included is a 13-inch air cleaner with black Ford Oval center nut, and a three-inch push-in breather cap. The kit fits 289, 302 and 351W engines. Pieces are also available separately.

Give the windows on your show car or everyday driver a streak-free finish with Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner, new from Meguiar’s. The formula features a dust-repellant solution to help glass cleaner longer, plus a lubricant that allows for a cloth to slide over the surface, leaving no streaks. It is available in either a 24-ounce trigger spray or 19-ounce aerosol can at major retailers, auto specialty stores or online.
Corvette brake kits
Wilwood has just released two front disc brake kits for first-generation (1953-’62) Corvettes. The first kit allows the use of 14-inch aftermarket wheels, and features Dynalite calipers and 11-inch rotors. The second kit is for use with 15-inch or larger custom wheels, and has Dynalite calipers and 12.19-inch rotors. Both kits include aluminum hub assemblies, aluminum rotor adapter plates, vented rotors, calipers brackets BP-10 brake pads and all necessary hardware. Drilled and slotted rotors are an option.

Wash and wax combo
Griot’s Garage has combined their car wash and car wax into one, easy-to-use formula. Ideal for when you don’t have time to do a full wash and wax, but still desire protection from the elements, the liquid comes in your choice of a 16-ounce bottle or one-gallon jug. A pump head for the gallon jug is sold separately.
Transmission floor jack adapter
Convert nearly any standard floor jack that has a removable pad and 13/16-inch center hole into a transmission jack with this adapter from TCI Automotive. It has a 12 by 12-inch cradle, which features a one-inch lip on three sides to keep the transmission in place during installation or removal; the fourth, open side allows the assembly to be slid on and off the engine’s dowel pins.
It fits most automatic transmissions.
Muscle car flexplates
If you’ve got one of the new breed of modern muscle (Challenger, Camaro or Mustang), you need to get that power to the ground. B&M Racing is now offering SFI-approved flexplates for these high-horsepower street machines. For GM, the company has flexplates for first to fourth generation LSx engines with L99 transmissions (which includes the 2010 and newer Camaro). Mopar applications cover 5.7L and 6.1L Hemis found in automatic transmission-equipped Chargers, Challengers, Magnums and Chrysler 300Cs. Ford 4.6L owners have a choice between a six- or eight-bolt flexplate, depending on their crankshaft.
Stromberg Carburetor is now offering a 28-inch version of their popular “Authorized Sales & Service” sign. Made from heavy gauge steel, it features dye-sublimation printing for a vintage look, and then it is powdercoated for a durable, long lasting finish. It comes with two holes for hanging. A smaller, 14-inch version is also available.
Cleco, an Apex Tool Group brand, has expanded its product line with the introduction of the 19 Series pneumatic screwdrivers. Available as a right angle, inline or pistol model, they are lighter yet more durable than previous models. They feature an adjustable reverse lever by the trigger, two interchangeable soft-grip handles that accommodate a range of hand sizes, and an easy-to-access torque verification port. Upgrade the appearance of your 2005-2012 Corvette while simultaneously improving visibility from behind with a set of LED taillights from Mid America Motorworks. The plug-and-play lights require no modifications to the car, and are sold as a set of four. Since they draw less energy, the lights may flash faster than the original units, but the company does sell a voltage regulator separately to overcome this.
