Hagerty is keeping an eye on the auction action in Monterey for the 2012 Classic Car Week. After the first day, the top money is riding on two-wheelers as the top five positions and six of the top 10 spots went to motorcycle sales.
Topping the list for domestic automobiles was a 1953 Cadillac Eldorado convertible sold by Mecum, which sold for $127,200. That was good for sixth overall. There were two other domestic cars in the top 10 and both of those also crossed the block at Mecum. A 1967 Corvette 454 convertible ranked ninth, selling for $79,500 while a 2012 Corvette ZR1 convertible rounded out the top 10 at $77,380.
Mecum experienced the greatest sell-through rate of 66 percent on the first day of action.
