The 2013 Carlisle Ford Nationals, set for June 7-9 at the Carlisle (Pennsylvania) Fairgrounds, will be following an incredible precedent-setting event.  Last year’s event saw a celebration of the life of Carroll Shelby and nearly 3,000 cars of all eras of Ford production converge. Along with the special displays, guests and wide array of show cars onsite, downtown Carlisle once again comes alive this year with the Saturday night Downtown Carlisle Ford Parade and Street Party.
As part of the downtown gathering, a pair of live musical acts will support the revelers well into the night. Following the grand cruise-in of 400-plus cars, Chris Woodward and Blackwater Jam will play the Red 102.3 stages. Woodward will be on the main stage on the courthouse steps at the square, while Blackwater Jam plays at the JFC Staffing Company parking lot, located just a few blocks east at the intersection of High and Pitt Streets.
Woodward hails from nearby Three Springs, Pennsylvania and is an energetic performer with songs that will have enthusiasts singing along. He’s opened up for country artists like Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, Jessica Andrews, Lonestar and many more. Blackwater Jam has previously played the Carlisle Truck Nationals and Carlisle Bike Fest.  Hailing from central Pennsylvania, Blackwater Jam is a no-holds-barred southern rock and blues band.
“Every town in America wishes for an event as popular and iconic as the Carlisle Ford Nationals," said Glenn White, Executive Director of the Downtown Carlisle Association. "The DCA is proud to work with Carlisle Events and Ford to showcase these classics every year. With over 400 vehicles downtown annually, our businesses benefit and the Ford owners benefit by allowing us to show them great Carlisle hospitality."
