It happened in late September. I wasn’t there, so I’m using secondhand information from a very reliable source. It has changed our world tremendously.

Dear Santa,

My request this year is simple (thanks for bringing me that supercharger from SLP last year). I am tired of the hybrid shoeboxes getting all the attention and making us muscle car guys look like Neanderthals. For Christmas, I want to show my belief with one of the great T-shirts from Gearheads4Life. It’s an olive green, Hanes 100-percent cotton T-shirt that won’t show dirt and has no neck-scratching tag. The dark color hides grime and stains and shows the world that I am a true gearhead. They are available in S to 3XL and since I am an XL, that’ll work. If you need to know more, check out www.gearheads4life.com.

Hey Santa,

The sun is shining brightly here in Arizona. I’ll bet it is cold where you are, but come and visit anytime. This year, I need to get a new golf bag because I am wearing mine out. I would like to have the Corvette Staff bag from Mid America Motorworks. It has all the pockets and pouches and everything I need, but best of all, it has the Corvette logo to match my ’91 (send the C4 version please). Maybe next year, I’ll have a C5 and might need a new bag again … ha, ha. They are officially licensed by General Motors, so it’s the real deal. I might be able to use it on December 26 if the weather’s nice. www.mamotorworks.com

Dear Santa,

I just love my Fox Mustang. I drive it everywhere I can and really enjoy having it, especially since we have taken out the old engine and put the 5.0L crate engine inside. It’s really a lot of fun, but I hate it when I look closely. It has a lot of places where there are scratches on it. For Christmas this year, I don’t want you to spend much. I could use the Quixx Scratch removal kit. It’s less than $20 for us (and you can probably get a volume discount). It’s a simple two-step process, so I can keep my baby looking good all year. www.quixx-usa.com

Season’s Greetings,

I’ll bet Santa doesn’t get many letters from an old car guy like me. I have been enjoying cars since I was a kid in the ‘50s and know that Santa can come through. I’ve been getting in trouble with the wife lately because I lose track of time while I am in the garage. I’d like to have a clock, a Michelin clock like the ones they have at Coker Tire. There are a lot of different styles to choose from and they all feature Bib. He makes me laugh and kinda reminds me of you. Coker Tire has a lot of Michelin memorabilia, too. I wouldn’t mind having some of that, too. www.cokertire.com

Hi Santa,

My buddy and I have had a very good year. This summer, we found a 1967 GTO convertible. Yeah, it needs a lot of work, but it is going to be a great car when we get done. We need a lot of stuff, but the biggest thing we need is a little guidance so that we know what we’re doing. For Christmas, please send me a copy of the book, How to Restore Your 1964-1974 Pontiac GTO, by Don Keefe. It has almost 400 photos and 176 pages to cover everything we will need to do. It’ll help with this one and the next one we take on. It’s only $29.95, so I’m not asking for much. www.cartechbooks.com

Dear Santa,

Do you ever go onto the Internet? I know you’re busy, but if you’re like me, you like to see the cool videos that racers put up there. Since I spend my weekends running around on the track when I can, I’d like to be able to watch my own runs instead of someone else’s. I need to get the Replay XD1080 camera, which will give me great video and sound to show the world (and help me become a better driver). It’s lightweight, easy to mount and has the highest quality video and even does time lapse. Get one and put it on the sleigh and you’ll see what I mean. www.replayxd.com

Dear Santa,

It’s winter here in New Jersey, but I want to get my car ready for spring. I use it on the track a lot so I have to get it dialed in to be the best it can be at the start of the year and not waste the whole season looking for the right combination. I can get what I need with a simple computer program from ProRacing SIM. It’s the DragSIM5. I can use the wintertime to build the car and test it to see if the combination is right without even turning a wrench. I need to get a leg up on the competition because my buddy won’t tell me how he’s beating me. I think he already has this. www.proracingsim.com

Dear Santa,

I thought I would send you a picture this year so you know exactly what I want. This is just one of the Muscle Machines from Maisto and I would like to have each one of them to add to my collection. You may think that it’s kinda strange that a grown up would ask for toys, but these aren’t just toys, but they’re collectibles. The look is unmistakable. With a unique caricature-styled body, an oversized engine and huge tires, it’s a car collectible loaded with appeal. This 1929 Ford Model AA truck shown is one of several 1:18 die-cast Muscle Machines. The popular die-casts are also available in 1:24 and 1:64 scales. www.musclemachines.com

Dear Santa,

I’ve been a messy girl this year in the garage. I have run through a big jug of my GoJo hand cleaner and I’m starting to smell like an orange. This year, I need something new just to shake it up. GoJo has a gel-style heavy duty hand cleaner with cherry fragrance and pumice scrubbers to quickly clean heavy dirt, grease and oil. It’s pH balanced to promote skin comfort. I work with my hands so I want to take care of them and this is the best way I can think of to keep them clean and fresh when I go inside or out with my boyfriend. www.gojo.com

Hey Santa,

Finally. I have found something to write to about. It’s been a few years, man, and you were always pretty good to me. I know you’re going to laugh because if you remember me, you will know that I always asked for guns or guitars or music stuff, but now I want a book. Music and cars (and girls) are my passions and I have just seen a book that looks like some great reading. It’s called Rockin Garages, featuring some of the greatest musicians and their cars. As a struggling musician, good rides can be hard to come by, but this book gives all of us wannabes a little hope. Santa, you’re all about making dreams come true, so help me with mine, by bringing me Rockin’ Garages. www.motorbooks.com

Dear Santa,

I just got my license last month and driving has been a lot of fun. I can’t wait until the snow comes so I can really see my driving skill. My parents are a little worried, so they wanted me to ask you about this 100-piece Bell automotive highway emergency kit. From what I’ve heard, it has several safety items all vehicles should have, all in one kit, including booster cables, a flashlight, a first-aid kit and tire sealant. I don’t want to be stranded on a cold winter’s night and I think you know what I mean. You may need one for yourself. www.pepboys.com

Santa,

My name is Cindy and I am a car nut. Both my mom and my dad have racecars, so we spend a lot of weekends at the track. This year, I don’t have a car of my own on the list since you didn’t bring me one last year. I decided I would keep my needs simple and get something a girl could always use – clothes. I am a Race Girl and proud of it, so I want to be able to show it. There’s a Race Girl T-shirt available in my size (Mom will send you my size) that I have seen at all of the NMRA and NMCA events this season. I will be really proud to be seen in it when the season starts. www.powermallstore.com

Dear Santa,

Christmas is a time to think of others, so my request isn’t for me. I want to help the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania. They have a lot of great exhibits, but some of those exhibits need a helping hand. I’d like you to choose a car from their great selection and get involved with their Adopt-A-Car program. Your donation provides for care and maintenance of these rare and unique automobiles so that visitors and enjoy them and preserve the history. There are plenty to choose from and it’s a good deed. If you think I need a gift, a membership to the museum would work well for me. I love to visit there. www.aacamuseum.org

Santa,

I need your help in deciding what I want. I have been through the Mid America Motorworks catalog three times and the list just gets longer every time. If I have to choose one thing (and I have been a good boy this year, so please don’t make me choose), I would like to have one of these lambskin leather jackets. I saw them at Funfest and they are nice. They have them available for men and women and your choice of C1 through C6 script. They’re soft and comfortable and stylish. It’s just what every Corvette enthusiast needs to go along with their great ride. www.mamotorworks.com

Santa,

I know times are tough all over, so I have made my gift requests to the family (and you) a little more reasonable. It’s not how much you spend, it’s what you get for your money. That’s the thought that counts. I need to take care of a little noise problem I have with my project car, so my gift wants are practical. The 3M Sound Reduction Mat has been road tested to suppress road noise, sound system vibrations, rattles and more. Easily custom cut and self-adhesive, it can be applied to vehicle floor pans, engine compartments, hoods, deck lids, inside doors and on body panels. It’s inexpensive and it will make my ears happier. www.3m.com

Santa,

I spend a lot of time getting my baby to look just right, but all of this work is killing me and taking away my fun time. For Christmas this year, please bring me the Meguiar’s DA Powersystem. Professionals use this and now us regular guys can have a crack at it. You just use your household drill to machine compound, polish and wax without paying a shop to do it. The circular motion of the pad is much more consistent than I’ve been able to accomplish and this will save a lot of wear and tear with a great finish as a result. The PowerPaks to be used with the system would be a nice addition, too. www.meguiars.com

Dear Santa,

I’m a techno-geek and was chatting with one of your elves on one of the forums and he suggested I write you. I need to get my hands on the DashCommand that will allow me to become more in tune with my car. I know it’s going to be a part of a Clarion system. The virtual gauges can display anything I need to know about my car like engine performance, fuel economy even racetrack stuff. It can even do the diagnostics and code clearing through the OBD-II. It’s all right there at your fingertips. I don’t imagine you need this, but us car guys do. I’ll be happy to be your beta tester, just get me a DashCommand. www.palmerperformance.com
