The fifth annual "Rags to Riches Tour" will happen on Saturday, August 20.  Bring your classic or antique automobile to take a ride on Old Highway 78, commemorating the ride Elvis and his family took when they left Tupelo in their 1939 Plymouth and moved to Memphis.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. at the Tupelo Automobile Museum.  A Show & Shine will be in the museum’s parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Cruisers may tour the Tupelo Automobile Museum and the Elvis Presley Birthplace.  Lunch will be served inside the Tupelo Automobile Museum to the first 125 registered participants at 12:30.  The tour will depart the museum at 2 p.m. and travel up Old Highway 78 (two-lane highway) to Holly Springs to tour George Poteet’s rarely seen car collection.

To participate in the Rags to Riches Tour and pre-register, contact Allen McDaniel at (662) 842-4242.  You may also download a registration form at under “Special Events.”  The Tupelo Automobile Museum is located off Highway 45, across the street from the BancorpSouth Arena in Downtown Tupelo.
