The Mustangs Across America 50th Anniversary Drive has hit an important milestone. As of early January, there have been 400 Mustangs registered to take part in at least a portion of the cross country trek.
Organizers are hoping registrations will continue as Mustang owners make arrangements for time off and other travel plans. Pre-registration ends on April 1 and full registration could exceed 500 Mustangs.
The seven-day journey starts in Los Angeles, California, and stretches to arrival at the 50th anniversary Mustang Club of America celebration in Charlotte, North Carolina. Each day is planned with scheduled beginning points, lunch stops, optional tours and hotel group rates.
“It’s as much a celebration of America itself as it is for the Ford Mustang,” said organizer Sam Haymart. “The drive is a chance for enthusiasts from around the globe from different walks of life to all get behind the wheel together and see this land from behind the same chrome pony.”
Mustangs Across America has been celebrating Mustang for 20 years with drives every five years since the initial offering in 1994. A schedule and registration information can be found at
