Live music and America’s Sports Car, the Corvette, invade downtown Carlisle for the ever-popular annual Downtown Carlisle Corvette Parade and Street Party. Corvettes at Carlisle takes place August 23-25 at the Carlisle (Pennsylvania) Fairgrounds and the parade, presented by the Downtown Carlisle Association, is held on Saturday, August 24.
The parade starts at 7 p.m. and includes live music and over 400 Corvettes spanning the history of the brand. In addition, special guests such as the Corvette engineers will be part of the free fun.  Showcased this year will be the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray, which will be one of the cars leading the way downtown.
Once parked in and around the square, drivers of the cars and fans of the brand will flood the streets, revel in the automotive excitement and enjoy live music from “That Band.” Registration for the parade may be done online as part of an additional charge to the Fun Field registration or onsite Friday of event weekend. A Saturday registration session is scheduled, based solely on the availability of spaces within the parade field.
“The Downtown Carlisle Corvette Parade has truly become a staple for our event each year,” said event manager Lance Miller.  “We’re thrilled to work with our local community and it’s just fun to flood the downtown of our local hometown with Corvettes.  Not only do the participants of the parade have a memorable time, but the local community enjoys watching the festivities provided,” continued Miller.  “When people ask me what activities they should do while visiting Corvettes at Carlisle, I always mention the Downtown Carlisle Corvette Parade.”
