More than 150 cars expected at LeMay

This scene will be repeated at the 2014 Pacific Northwest Concours d'Elegance, to be held Spet. 25-27 at LeMay - America's Car Musuem in Tacoma, Washington.
LeMay – America’s Car Musuem (ACM) in Tacoma, Washington, will be the site for the Pacific Northwest Concours d’Elegance. Slated for Sept. 25-27, the three-day event will showcase classic, brass era and muscle cars. Proceeds will support the Hagerty Education Program, a non-profit organization that provides hands-on training to young adults interested in collectible vehicle restoration.
Activities begin on Friday with the Tour d’Jour, a 100-mile classic and sports car drive through scenic country roads in the Puget Sound area. It begins at 8 a.m. at ACM, and breakfast and lunch are included in the $80 per car registration fee. The tour is expected to conclude at 2 p.m.
Dinner and auctions
Saturday night, there will be a dinner catered by award-winning chef Tom Douglas. Preceding the dinner will a silent auction along with wine and hors d’oeuvres. During dinner, a live jazz band will perform. After dinner, there will be a live auction, highlighted by an all-electric BMWi3. The 170hp car features a carbon fiber body, can go from 0-to-60 in about seven seconds, and has a range of 70 to 110 miles per charge. It can be fully charged in approximately 3? hours.
Tickets are $150 for ACM members and $175 for general admission.
On Sunday, September 7, all eyes will be on the show field, as the Pacific Northwest Concours d’Elegance will be open to the public. This year’s classes are:

- Motorcycles - BMW
- Shelby Mustang 1965-1970
- Mustang 1964 ?-1973
- Muscle Cars 1964-1972
- Modified Vintage Flathead Hot Rods
- European Body, American Power Cars
- BMW Early and significant cars, up to the Z8
- Brass/Antique Cars – pre-1920
- Special Display: American Tail Fins - cars of the 1950s with significant tail fins
Tickets are $35 for adults; $25 for ACM members and students; $10 for youth ages 6-18. Tickets may be purchased in advance online through the LeMay website, www.lemaymuseum.org
The museum is also offering several discounts, available only at the gate the day of the event. A family of four for $50 (children under five are free); and seniors, military, AAA members, or those with Hagerty or State Farm insurance, $30. A valid ID is required upon admission to obtain these discounts.
