The Linn Creek Corvette Association in Missouri recently hosted their fourth annual Corvette Meet and Greet at Hulett Chevrolet/Buick/GMC. It was a huge success. There were 90 registered for the event and more showed up just to “meet and greet”, pushing the total over 100. There were Corvettes from many surrounding states (Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas) in addition to Missouri .
The pre-meeting at Mexicali Blues on Friday evening, 9/23/2011, had 50 Corvettes show up to pick up car show packets and to register for the event.
All Corvette generations were represented, and the quality of the cars was outstanding. In total, each participant received an event t-shirt, a goodie bag, lunch for two catered by Wobbly Boots, and a nice attendance prize. Additionally, a silent auction and 50/50 drawing were held with proceeds supporting our service men and women.
Last year, the club was able to send 450 “Christmas Stockings for Soldiers” to the 101st Airborne Spartans! Special Troops Battalion serving in Afghanistan. The commanding officer, LTC James Sisemore and his family, attended the event this year and thanked the Corvette owners for their support with a rousing, heartfelt speech.
There were over 40 awards presented, including “Best of Show”, honoring our late Corvette friend, Steve Graves. His wife, Pat was there to present the award along with Ryan Hulett to Mike Craig, and his 1955 Roadster.
