The Marymount Event Center in Tacoma, Washington, is about to be the center point of a driving school. This one-day class is a unique hands-on experience for any car lover – it’s a wonderful chance to actually get behind the wheel of a Ford Model T vehicle. Take the class yourself, or give the experience as a gift to a friend!
Did you know that more than 15 million Model T’s were produced from 1908-1927?
Students will learn “Tin Lizzie” history, maintenance, tips & tricks, and then a road test where you can actually drive a Model T yourself, apply what you learned, and see what makes it so special! (You’ll feel how it handles compared to more modern cars). This course will teach the skills required to drive any Ford Model T including coordination of hand and foot controls, use of spark and throttle control levers, proper shifting and stopping techniques, use of neutral and brake levers, and reversing, etc. When it’s over, you’ll get a unique chance to tour the LeMay Collection and Marymount property!
Driver’s ed students must be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license at time of class.
The May event has already been sold out, but there is one chance remaining on Saturday June 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Class size is limited and lunch is included. Driver’s Ed Course Fee: $90/student (Non-member), $75/student (Foundation member), pre-paid and can be paid at or by visiting the Marymount Event Center at 325 152nd ST E. in Tacoma.
