Parts maker sponsors Impala

There are no Corvettes in NASCAR racing, but that’s not stopping a well-respected Corvette parts business from getting in the game. Keen Parts will serve as primary sponsor of the #70 Chevrolet Impala driven by David Stremme in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on July 8 at Kentucky Speedway.
Keen Parts owner Tom Keen told us he sees an opportunity to grow his business. “We know the people in the stands, the guys in the garage and the people watching on TV could be our customers. These are car people who enjoy cars.”
The car is owned by ML Motorsports of Warsaw, Indiana, a regular on the series. ML Motorsports, in conjunction with promoting NASCAR weekend at the Sparta, Kentucky, facility, had their race car on display at the Greater Cincinnati airport in Florence, Kentucky. The move paid off as additional exposure for Keen’s business, which is based in the Cincinnati area.
This is the first time the NASCAR Sprint Cup series has had a race at the Kentucky track, which will draw additional spectators. Keen’s first-time involvement makes sense. “We’re kind of a curiosity,” he said. “We’ll have them asking ‘who’s the new kid?’. For us, it’s a gamble and I’m hoping it pays off.”
Keen’s involvement will be the subject in an upcoming issue of the print magazine, Auto Enthusiast.
