Among the sea of Corvettes that will be found at Bloomington Gold June 27-29 on the University of Illinois-Champaign campus will be three special rides.

The last C4 produced is scheduled to be inducted into the Bloomington Gold Great Hall on Friday, June 27 at 4 p.m. Following a pattern set by earlier models, this last C4 received Grand Sport fender flares and hash marks, ZR-1 wheels, specially embroidered emblems on the seats, a windshield graphic and unique “Last C4” emblems on each side. The car was also signed by nearly every Bowling Green plant worker and assembly line worker, as well as GM dignitaries. The car will be on display throughout the weekend in the Great Hall.

Celebrating 50-year anniversaries are a pair of unique styling Corvettes, which will be on display in the Mid America Motorworks booth.

The first is the 1964 World’s Fair Styling Corvette, a fuel-injected coupe taken off the assembly line and transferred to the Tech Center for modification under Shop Order #10361. Custom features include an enlarged front grille, large side exhaust, dual sport side view mirrors, a hood with cut-out to accommodate the fuel injection system, all topped off with 15 coats of Candy Apple Red lacquer paint that matched the car’s interior.

The second is the 1964 Bunkie Knudson Styling Corvette, which features a custom paint job in Cadillac Frost Blue sprayed on a specially-prepared body. With its unique hood design, large cast grille, unique front bumper treatment, the car also sports custom-made high back bucket seats with all-white leather trim and one-off door panels featuring power windows and power vent wings.
