Gene and Debbie Marler became Corvette enthusiasts when Debbie’s brother surprised her with a 1989 C4 Corvette on her birthday in 2011. The Marlers joined Boone Trail Corvette Club and have since entered Debbie’s Corvette in several car shows and parades. They also attend Corvette Funfest at Mid America Motorworks every year.

Gene and Debbie enjoyed driving her car to shows and on various club trips. She soon made plans to customize her Corvette and knew that the interior should come from Mid America Motorworks, aftermarket manufacturer and supplier of Corvette parts and accessories.

Tragically, Debbie passed away unexpectedly in early 2012 of a heart attack. Now, Gene is continuing Debbie’s plans to customize her Corvette. He turned to Mid America Motorworks’ interior manufacturing division, PERFORMANCE CHOICE, to complete the interior.

From new carpet and door panels to Neoprene seat covers and custom embroidery, PERFORMANCE CHOICE has worked to help Gene fulfill Debbie’s vision of her favorite toy. When it is complete, the C4 will have a white interior with purple accents.

Gene has found tremendous support in his Corvette club and looks forward to finishing the project. In June, they drove to Florida where the Corvette was photographed with the Blue Angels. Gene brought Debbie’s C4 to Corvette Funfest 2012.
