You'll find out, only if you're the highest bidder at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale Arizona!

A couple of years ago, RideTech decided to do something that was a bit more “traditional” looking, something light, something that would show hot rodders that you didn’t have to necessarily build a Camaro, Mustang, or Corvette to be cool and go fast.

This car has been tested, raced, driven on the street, refined, tuned and has achieved success at the highest level. Titled as a 1933 Factory Five Racing replica, at the end of 2013 it was disassembled, refurbished for this Barrett-Jackson event and is now ready for its next challenge.

The RideTech '33 Ford is a 3,000 hour build that incorporates an all-aluminum 427cid small block Ford engine making 580hp, a magnesium NASCAR 4-speed, a Winters quick change rear end, 14" Baer brakes, Forgeline wheels and a Holley EFI system. It also features an on-board fire suppression system, a Fuel Safe fuel cell, full stainless roll cage and a stainless 3" exhaust.

Starting with a Factory Five chassis and body, the '33 actually uses a lot of used, fabricated, or otherwise pre-existing components. The 427W engine used to be in a 69 Mustang and the Rankin clutchless 4-speed transmission was a remnant from the Jasper Engines NASCAR program a few years ago. The Winters quickchange rearend was bought new. The 6-piston, 14″ rotor Baer Brakes were left over from another project, as was the Holley Dominator EFI system, the MSD distributor and Digital 6A box, and the Racepak dash.

RideTech spent from November 2011 to May of 2012 fitting the body, fabricating the double paneled insulated sheetmetal interior, building the seats, making the stainless headers and oval exhaust system, fitting the Tilton pedals and IDIDIT tilt steering column, creating a full stainless rollcage, installing a Fuelsafe fuelcell and fire system, and making all the little hinges, handles, brackets, and riveted sheetmetal trim pieces that appear all over the car.

The aluminum seats incorporate ergonomic foam cushions and wear custom leather covers by the Recovery Room. The chassis has been refined with custom fabricated front control arms, a Woodward rack & pinion front steering system, Tilton floor mount pedals, custom fabricated wishbone rear suspension system and the Ride Tech triple adjustable coilovers.

The list of achievements for this car is substantial, including 2012 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational Brake Stop Competition (winner), 2012 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational (3rd overall), 2012 Goodguys Pro Series (winner), 2012 Goodguys Street Rod Series (winner), 2013 Optima Face Off At Road America Brake Stop Competition (winner), 2013 Optima Face Off at Road America (winner), June 2013 Hot Rod magazine cover car, June 2013 Hot Rod magazine 10-page feature article and featured on five of the Optima Street Car TV shows.
