      A trio of great muscle machines from Mopar is included in the offerings that will be a part of te upcoming Mecum Auction at CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle, Washington, June 13-14.
      A 1970 ‘Cuda Convertible is an extremely rare and highly optioned car that rolled off the Hamtramck assembly line in High Impact In-Violet Iridescent with black premium leather trimmed interior and black convertible top. The lengthy list of factory options also includes the A62 Rallye Instrument Cluster, D32 727 TorqueFlite, C16 Center Console, C55 Bucket Seats, C62 Left Hand Seat 6-way manual adjustable seat, H51 Single Air air conditioning, J45 Hood Tie Down Pins, M25 Wide Sill Molding, M88 Quarter Panel Tape Treatment, N41 Dual Exhaust / N42 Chrome tips, P31 Power Windows, R35 AM/FM Multiplex Stereo, V3X Black Convertible Top, and 26-inch Radiator.
      It has received a show quality, nut-and-bolt restoration and has been sparingly driven, carefully maintained, and kept in climate controlled storage since completion. This car was born with the high performance (E63) 383 CI 4-barrel V-8, but the engine was upgraded to a top spec, 1970 date-coded 440 CI Super Commando V-8 with six-barrel induction and shaker hood.
      Just 548 ‘Cuda Convertibles were built in total for the 1970 model year. Of those, 132 were delivered new with the high performance 383 CI/727 Torqueflite drivetrain. This very highly optioned car with an added 440 Six Pack is unique and desirable example of this rare breed.
It will be sold on Friday as Lot F151.
      Two interesting lots will be offered to new owners on Saturday. Lot S223 is a Plymouth Road Runner that is the recipient of a photo-documented, nut-and-bolt, rotisserie restoration by the experts at Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
      Born with a 383 4-barrel V-8 (E63), heavy duty four-speed manual transmission (D21), and finished in from the factory in the same Saddle Bronze Metallic color as presented here, this car was built as a near-concours representation of an A12 440 Six Pack Lift-off car that looks highly correct but can be driven and enjoyed.
      Deviations from factory are subtle and done with an eye toward real world usability and driving enjoyment. They include 906 heads, high capacity BeCool radiator with dual electric fans, March pulleys, upgraded ignition, custom jet coated headers and free flowing stainless exhaust system, custom-built A833 Hemi 4-speed, Dana 60 Sure-Grip axle, restored original steel 15x6 front steel wheels with matched Stockton 15x8 rears all wearing new black-walled BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, and the addition a Classic Auto air conditioning system.
      Earlier in the day, spirited bidding is expected for Lot S156. The famed “Holley Road Runner” was also built by Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. as a promotional showcase for the extensive offerings of Holley Performance Products.
       The restoration was completed to the highest standards and new mechanical components installed with a comprehensive list of ultra high performance upgrades. Headlining that list is a 440-based 542 big block, which was custom built by Indy Cylinder Head, Inc. with a focus on streetability and big torque. It features Indy 440SR 906 heads with roller rockers and custom porting, Lunati forged pistons and balanced Indy rods, forged and balanced crank, ARP bolts, Lunati hydraulic cam, Lunati roller bearing and rolling timing chain, and much more, all topped with a The Blower Shop 8-71 polished billet blower and dual four-barrel Holley 4150 HP Series 750cfm carburetors.
      The suspension is comprehensively updated with Magnum Force tubular control arms, coilover shocks, Baer disc brakes with cross-drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners, urethane bushings, and polished Stockton aluminum wheels. Other notable features include a custom built Keisler five-speed manual transmission driving a bespoke Dana 60 rear end with ARB locker, custom made lift-off hood, all new factory-style interior, all new/replated trim and brightwork, Vintage Air, Pistol Grip shifter, and a custom audio system.
