Ford is producing 1,964 Limited Edition 2015 Mustangs, in honor of the car’s launch year, and the last one made will be sold for charity.

The final car, number 1,964 of 1,964, will be auctioned by Barrett-Jackson at their Las Vegas event Sept. 25-27. The fastback Mustang will be autographed by top Ford executives, in addition to carrying a special engraved serial number plaque, and all the proceeds will go to Get Your Heart Racing, a fundraiser that supports the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute at the Henry Ford Hospital.

This final limited edition Mustang will be unveiled at a “pit party” on September 12 at Eastern Market in Detroit. From there, the car will go to the Las Vegas auction, and then will be the official pace car of the Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 16.

In addition to receiving this one-of-a-kind Mustang, the winning bidder will also receive a VIP package to the NASCAR race, which includes airfare, hotel accommodations, and two VIP tickets to the track. A Ford NASCAR driver will run hot laps in Mustang No. 1,964 ahead of the race.

Get Your Heart Racing is Henry Ford Health System’s most successful annual fundraiser. For more information or to purchase event tickets, please visit or contact Kim Streich at (734) 246-9639 or
