You’ve heard about all of those ultra-rare Hemi Challengers, Hemi Super Bees and Hemi Darts that Dodge cranked out in the early ‘70s in drips and drabs. Now, Mopar’s performance branch is doing the same with the current Challenger and the rarest of the rarities will be the ’14 Challenger.
The ’14 Challenger takes the Challenger R/T Shaker concept one step further and will be produced only in Bright White or Gloss Black, in both cases highlighted by a Shaker-style Mopar Blue stripe. Some of the cars will also get a Mopar Blue rocker panel and body side triple stripe running from the front-to-rear fascia with “MOPAR” on the doors. The Satin Black Shaker hood scoop will shiver and quiver when the 5.7-liter Hemi is turned on. The ’14 Challenger will also be engineered to accept any of Dodge’s three new “Scat Packages.”
The ’14 Challenger package includes the Shaker hood, induction system, Shaker stripe (body side stripe optional), 20-in Gloss Black Shaker wheels, Mopar logo wheel center caps, a vapor chrome grille surround, Mopar badging, a unique Mopar leather interior and trim, a Pistol Grip shifter, Mopar logo quarter glass decals, Mopar ’14 instrument panel badge, a Mopar logo key fob badge,
Specific options and additional equipment will range from sequential taillamps to an anti sway bar. The Mopar Custom Shop will also offer catalog items for factory installation on these cars.
Dealers snapped up the entire allocation in four days. These are clearly a collectible today and tomorrow.
