The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit will be the beneficiary of the sale of the first production 2015 Corvette Z06, which will be auctioned by Barrett-Jackson at its Palm Beach, Florida, sale on April 12.

Chevrolet is donating the car. Proceeds will go towards the renovation of the Institute’s infusion center, which provides a more comfortable and soothing setting for patients to receive chemotherapy treatments.

The winning bidder will receive a letter of authenticity, as well as the ability to select the color of his or her 2015 Chevrolet Z06.

The auction is in support of the Institute’s 32nd Annual Dinner, which will be held at the Fox Theater in Detroit April 26. It will be chaired by GM President Dan Ammann and his wife, Pernilla.

Those unable to attend the Palm Beach Collector Car Auction may bid online at To register, call (480) 421-6694. Since this is a charity sale, Barrett-Jackson will waive all buyer and seller fees, according to a statement from Chevrolet.
