Each year, the COMP Cams® Engine Builder Duel provides an opportunity for the best engine builders in the country to showcase their expertise at some of the nation’s most prestigious automotive shows and events. The Engine Builder Duel will be making its first trip to Texas this weekend, appearing at the Goodguys Lone Star Nationals, with competition dates slated for Friday, October 4 through Sunday, October 6 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The COMP Cams® Engine Builder Duel, presented by Snap-On Tools, pits a pair of two-person teams against each other to see which one can completely assemble and crank a Small Block Chevy engine in the shortest amount of time. An added twist this year is the first ever use of the revolutionary FAST™ EZ-EFI 2.0® from the COMP Performance Group™. The EZ-EFI 2.0® will replace the fuel injection systems and carburetors used on previous builds. Equipped with nothing but their knowledge, contestants are given the appropriate parts and tools to complete the build, but may not ask questions of anyone in the crowd.
First place winners of daily contests will each be rewarded with a $250 COMP Cams® gift certificate while runner-up team members will each receive a $125 certificate. Visit to learn more.
