Carlisle Auctions held their first 2014 event in the Keystone State in conjunction with Spring Carlisle in 2014. More than 300 cars crossed the block with over 72 percent sold. That 72.46 percent sell-through rate brought $3.2 million in total automotive sales.
The auction offered a little bit of something for everyone with cars moving from mid four-figure prices to high five figure totals. A sampling of cars consigned included a 1981 DeLorean that was used as part of a Michael J. Fox promotional spot for ABC and even autographed by John DeLorean.
GM cars proved to be the leaderin the sales realm as each of the top 5 spots was filled with a GM product. Leading the way was a 1965 Corvette that brought a winning bid of $77,000. A beautiful 1962 Catalina made the Poncho crowd happy, hammering at $71,000. Another Corvette, a 1968 model, claimed new ownership with a bid of $68,250. The remaining top five cars were a pair of 1957 Chevrolets, getting $61,000 and $60,000 respectively.
