The Z/28s you'll see in 2014 and beyond are most likely going to be factory built as GM won't sell some parts to stifle cloning.

       If you were thinking about getting a new Camaro and tricking it out to be a Z/28 clone, you may want to rethink the idea. Published reports have indicated that GM will not be offering some unique parts found on the Z/28.
       The company will have a limited run of 500 2014 models and up the ante to 2,500 in 2015, so there will likely be a supply of the real deal at $75,000. Since the company isn’t offering parts, it won’t be long before the aftermarket gets the car and begins to do what they do. Soon, you should be able to get items brakes, interior and styling parts that may (or in some cases may not) be blessed by GM. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, but the way may be a little too cost prohibitive.
       There are also reports that GM will build its own imitators by offering different configurations that do not include all of the amenities of a real Z/28. It would be a little of this or a little of that, but there would always be something missing that prevents the car from being a true model. With the expected arrival of aftermarket parts, though, it offers a half-step to creating that clone you’ve been looking for.
       No word on price points for the special GM packages to determine how much you’d have to spend on the parts to complete the puzzle.
       GM considered the latest iteration to be the most capable track car in the company’s history and it backed the claim by running Nurburgring four seconds faster than a Camaro ZL1.
